Technology Transfer at the CTC

Scientific work at the CTC ranges from basic chemical research to applied science. Technology transfer is considered from the outset: the CTC promotes entrepreneurial thinking, innovative spirit, and start-up culture as part of its sciencepreneurship philosophy.

The aim is to make scientific findings in chemistry not only excellent but also effective – through marketable products, processes, and technologies that are mature yet made available to industry and society at an early stage.

In addition to collaborating with established companies, start-ups, and leading research institutions, the CTC focuses in particular on its own spin-offs as key drivers of innovation. The generation and licensing of intellectual property (IP) is not only a driver of innovation, but also a catalyst for new business models and sustainable jobs. Particular attention is paid to structural change in Central Germany: by specifically tapping into exploitation potential, the CTC is making an active contribution to a resilient, future-oriented, and sustainable chemical industry – in the region and beyond.

A first success in attracting new businesses has already been achieved: the start-up aevoloop develops sustainable and fully recyclable plastics and has moved from Konstanz to Leipzig with eleven employees to join forces with the CTC. More information
